WPHNA SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS

Background

The World Public Health Nutrition Association (WPHNA) is a professional association that brings together people with a common interest in promoting and improving public health nutrition. We aim to form a global network and dynamic forum to exchange views to support each other in our work and strengthen the capacity for action. Our activities include leadership and scholarship to build the evidence base for effective action and advocacy at local, national, and international level to promote our purpose. Special Interest Groups provide opportunities for members with a shared interest in a specific area of knowledge or practice, to come together, form supportive networks and to affect solutions for WPHNA and their own work.

Special Interest Groups

All WPHNA member/s are able to propose the formation of a Special Interest Group (SIG). The member/s would be required to submit no more than two pages outlining the title, focus and chair members of the SIG which is to be submitted to the executive committee to assess the merits and uniqueness of the SIG compared to other SIGs. The chair positions will be filled through an EOI process conducted by the Professional Affairs and Policy Secretary and ratified by EC.  The acceptance of the new SIG will be announced via WPHNA communication channels (newsletter, website, social media) as well as communication with the proposed SIG chairs.
